Designing knowledge to accelerate technology and business.
ideacc Inc. is an IP creation & acceleration studio that handles everything from idea generation to patent filing, licensing, and commercialization of new businesses, products, and services.
About ideacc
Our vision: access ideas, and accelerate them.
Mission
We invent disruptive ideas unlike anything before and provide them broadly as intellectual property, supporting the creation and growth of new businesses. For startups, we offer unique hands-on support—providing IP and working alongside them toward commercialization and growth.
Style
Free from fixed ideas and single disciplines, we create value from zero. By viewing element technologies as functions, we excel at combining multiple elements in the boundary domains where specialists rarely think to look. Every core concept is conceived by humans; by fully leveraging AI during feasibility studies, we can create ideas explored in depth across a wide range of fields.
Values
We provide ideas selected for business novelty, rationality, reproducibility, impact on industry, society, and the environment, and competitive advantage. We are not interested in improving existing technology. We value preserving ideas as reproducible functional units.
Confidentiality & Trust
Even early-stage ideas can be discussed with confidence, under NDA and careful information management. Meanwhile, we proactively disclose the IP we have already filed.
Founding Message
In an era where AI expands the power to build, the most important question is not only "how to build" but "what to build"—founder Tomohiro Murakami explains why ideacc was founded.
Services
We optimize the flow from invention → IP → market → revenue for each project.
Idea Generation & Planning
From idea generation to full planning for new businesses, products, and services—across deep tech, software services, gadgets, materials, and more. We can invent on request, or further develop and propose ideas we have already conceived.
Patent Filing & IP Creation
Strategic design and filing of basic plus peripheral patents, including the core of the claims and the surrounding coverage. We handle everything from conception to management, and publish our portfolio after filing.
Licensing, Transfer & Joint Development
Planning of IP licensing, transfer, and joint development. We provide our IP to clients interested in our patents, and undertake joint development where needed.
IP for Startups
We provide startups with patent application rights, know-how, and the "source material" for subsidy applications—supporting launches built around intellectual property.
Technology & Business Storytelling
Articulating advantages in ways that resonate with investors and companies. We prepare planning documents and pitches from both technical and business perspectives.
Mentoring
Sparring sessions and decision support on both technology and business, drawing on experience as a Startup Weekend judge and coach and as a mentor for UTokyo GTIE.
IP Portfolio
From deep tech to services, gadgets, and materials—comprehensive technology families built from basic and peripheral patents, to be licensed to major manufacturers and provided to startups. Some are published as "open ideas," deliberately without patent filings.

Founder
From repairing TVs in junior high school to developing world-leading products—an inventor and executive who has always built from zero.
Born in Kurashiki, Okayama, in 1958. Graduated from Kurashiki Minami High School in 1977, and completed the master's program in electronics at Osaka University in 1983.
As board director and CTO at both Santec and Inspec—developing every product from scratch—he led both companies to IPO. Over 40 years at the forefront of optics, image processing, and laser control, he has produced numerous world-first and world-leading-share products.
At 60 he founded Eidea and developed an AI-and-laser medical hair-removal device. At 67 he founded ideacc, taking on business creation built around intellectual property.
Accumulated Expertise
Hobbies
3D animation with MikuMikuDance—including MMD Cup entries (since age 55)—scuba diving, and being a devoted Love Live! fan.
Startup Support Track Record
- Subsidy "source material" provided free of charge — Shin-Renkei: a large-scale entertainment app development, ¥60M (exhibited at SXSW) / Monozukuri subsidies: ultra-bright multi-angle LED illumination for FA image processing, ¥10M; customization using 3D foot capture, ¥7M
- Patent application rights & know-how provided free of charge — interference-free large-scale smartphone synchronization via BLE, large-scale smartphone position & ID acquisition via image processing, LED illumination patents, and more
- Startup Weekend — served as judge and coach (Tokyo: robotics, monozukuri, marine; Tsukuba, Shizuoka, Mishima, Akita—including bringing the event there—and more)

The origin: "If it doesn't exist, build it all yourself"
- Taught himself TV repair in junior high—fixed discarded TVs and gave them to friends and teachers
- Built a complete record-cutting machine in his second year of high school (1976)—ground hundreds of cutting styluses under a microscope over 18 months; produced a 33-rpm, 23-minute LP that was broadcast by NHK
- Built a 4-voice analog synthesizer in his third year (1977)—VCO/VCF/VCA/ADSR modules, with boards etched from self-made photomasks
- Also developed rockets entirely on his own: fuel, molding technology, and electric ignition
Hand-building a full-graphics computer and an e-beam lithography system
- Built his own PC two years after the Apple II launch—6809 CPU, 640×480 graphics, all-TTL design; hand-drawn photomasks, self-made etching and plating, fonts entered by hand into a self-built ROM writer
